Garrett Rice
Garrett is an avid CrossFitter and coach. He found CrossFit when looking to get back into shape after turning 30. With a sports background in football, baseball, wrestling, gymnastics and D1 College Cheerleading he has a wide range of athletic experience. Garrett’s coaching background includes 5 years of combined experience in exercise program design for Mixed Martial Artists and military and 2 years of coaching gymnastics for cheerleading. He posesses a CrossFit Level 1 Certification,coaching experience at Hybrid Training Center, CrossFit Seven Cities lead trainer, Wilkes Olympic weightlifting seminar, CrossFit Coach’s Prep Course. Additionally, he holds BAs in Philosophy and History and works in the defense field.

Sara Shannon
Sara is a mother of 3 and a lifetime fitness enthusiast. She is a Level 1 CrossFit certified trainer who has received her Gymnastics, Olympic Lifting and Endurance certificates. She has also completed the CrossFit Coach’s Prep Course.
She was a college cheerleader and always enjoyed staying active. For the past 10 years she been an avid runner, participating in numerous half marathons, 8K and sprint distance triathlons. In 2009 she completed her first full marathon and raised money for the Leukemia Society.
Sara has been doing CrossFit for the past 3 years.

Catherine Donatone
I grew up in Virginia Beach and spent most of my life playing volleyball (playing competitively since I was 11 and continuing up through college). I’ve always been competitive and when I got my first taste of CrossFit, it seemed to be a perfect fit. The instant gains I made in both physical and mental strength got me hooked: I caught the bug, drank the koolaid, however you choose to characterize it. The impact that it’s made on my life has been tremendous; I’m stronger and more confident than I ever was, in a fitness environment that doesn’t get boring or stale. I picked up my Level 1 certification and a course in Mobility & Movement, and continue to learn new things from every athlete and coach I encounter. When I graduated from UVA, I realized that one of the things that brings me the most joy is when I’m hitting a PR or helping other athletes reach their goals, and that’s what keeps me coming back.
Tina Degiorgio (Owner)
I’ve been a fitness nut as long as I can remember. One of my fondest memories is when I was 12 years old watching Gilligan’s Island and a ‘Leggs’ nylon commercial came on blasting these fit beautiful women at various ages, 33, 42, 55, 65, showing off their legs. (Anyone remember that one?) I said to myself, that’s going to be me.
Through 5 pregnancies I maintained that promise to myself. In the last 2 years I have been able to take that fitness to a whole new level with the help of CrossFit. I want this for everyone!!!
It is my goal to provide a happy, fun, safe and educational CrossFit gym where you can work out, learn and be the kid again. My certification thus far are: level 1, endurance, striking, mobility, Olympic weight lifting. I am also chiropractor who does acupuncture and muscle work. I’ve been serving VB for the last 15 years…. I love it here and love serving!
Bea Steeves
Bea is an enthusiastic coach and athlete. She found Crossfit during a quest to complete three strict pull-ups.

Growing up playing softball, volleyball and cheerleading, Bea always enjoyed a zealous platform. For the last three years, she has dedicated her time to becoming a competitive Crossfit athlete. She holds a BA in History and is pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University. She is Level 1 certified.
“It helped me find rawness within myself. I didn’t realize how capable I was (we all are) and in that realization, I found inner confidence. Physically speaking, I am stronger, my body looks better than ever and I am the healthiest I’ve ever been. Not to mention, I eat more than just about any person I know.”
